Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed for the Increase in the Representation of Youth in State Power Bodies.
During the 32nd Meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of countries-participants of CIS in Saint Petersburg city in course of the discussion of the issue on formation of the legislative basis for the youth policy in CIS countries, V. Lytvyn stressed on the importance of admission of new reality that had formed on the post-soviet territory and in the whole world.
First of all, according to him, the age category of the people that is under the category of "youth". "Under present conditions the young people must study till 30 years", - V. Lytvyn declared, hence the demographic policy of country should be overviewed.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that the demographic problem first of all should be decided not through the increase of the birthrate but through the increase of the years of life.
He expressed for the broadening of the participation of women and youth in system of state administration.
V. Lytvyn expressed for the fixing on the legislative level "certain quota principle" of women and youth representation in state governing.
On of the major aspects in the youth policy V. Lytvyn deems the issue on provision of the young people by the first working place. According to him "In Ukraine a conflict might rise soon between young and old generations". "Both category struggle for working places", - V. Lytvyn declared.
